Bidra is located in the Carridiun Sea, near the edge of the Uresh Maelstrom. Originally founded by stranded sailors from Setera and The Itran States, Bidra is a aristocratic republic who holds many of the same traditions and cultural eccentricities as their original homelands. Populated mostly by humans, dwarves and a small half-orc population, Bidran sailors are constantly underestimated because of their races’ reputation for “landlubbering”. Because of this, Bidrans are fiercely proud of their sailing prowess and the power of their navy. Bidrans of all races are various shades of brown in complexion, and the dwarves wear dreadlocks and braid their beards. Rather than focusing on speed and raiding power in a frigate fleet, the Bidran navy largely consists of “Stormhammer” and “Thunderclap” battleships. Stormhammer ships are large transport ships with a ram at either end and enchanted oars to increase their speed during combat; stormhammer ships also have their masts on a swivel, so that they can turn on a doubloon. Thunderclap ships are heavy battleships with a lower deck lined with ballistas, and the upper deck has a total of eight catapults, one at the bow, one at the stern, and three one each side of the deck. The crow’s nest is also armed with a light polybolos, a small repeating ballista little larger than a crossbow. Bidra is a close ally of Khallum, and historically their militaries have acted in unison. Bidran land forces are primarily mounted shock troops who act as infantry supported by the Bidran artillery. Bidrans are Daitara’s most skilled artillery, primarily due to their love of tinkering and protection of inventors.
